How Dr. Keon Nia became a LASIK eye surgeon

Part III

With my interest piqued, I made the jump from ENT to ophthalmology and I’ve never looked back. I completed my residency and specialization at the University of Toronto. I managed to do research and write articles on low vision as well as on the vision of the homeless population in Toronto, both of which I was proud to have published. As a senior resident, I took the opportunity to pass on my love of ophthalmology, by teaching surgery to junior residents.

With my studies well behind me now, I have never regretted the career path that I have chosen. I still enjoy every day of work at my private clinic and at LASIK MD. Over the years I’ve seen incredible changes in technology, worked side-by-side with some of the best surgeons in the field, and been blessed to have been able to help my patients. And for that, I’ll always be thankful.
